Introduction

Safe and hygienic organic waste disposal remains to be a challenging task in spite of several technologies readily available. The popular methods for waste disposal methods are time consuming and takes two to six months to complete one cycle depending on the methods selected. This limits the handling capacity of these units which causes dumping of waste near these units which leads to environmental and health hazards especially during rainy seasons.

Hence a method for quick conversion of organic waste to manure is the only practical solution to address this problem. This novel process is hygienic, efficient and most suitable method for processing waste at source. It avoids the problem of transporting the waste to processing units.

Our pilot projects are successfully operating at several schools, Colleges and offices in Trivadrum. This machine is extremely suitable to install in residential flats, gated colonies, restaurants, hotels etc. An open space with good air circulation and light like roof tops of flats are ideal for installing this machine. Machines are available in different sizes from 25 kg to 100 kg.

Operation

Mainly three steps for operating the machine.

1. Switch ON the machine and put the waste into inlet. The grinded waste will be emptied into another chamber called reactor vessel.
2. The waste processing reagents can be added to the reactor vessel as per directions when temperature reached 100 degree celcius. Operate the machine for specified time.
3. Dry the manure in the machine or in a drier. Small quantities can be dried in sunlight to save electricity. Dried manure can packed and used as required.
